Overview
Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ was founded durring the late 12th century in summer of the year 1068, by Shadda vyim Yuvnonreys. The establishment of Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shadda vyim Yuvnonreys struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ as a prison colony.
Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ is no diffrent. The metropolis's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.
Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of broad streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The cliffside metropolis has a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, battlments, and even a moat, which are fashioned from stone and timber. Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. The unusual though effective defenses has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.
A quick look in any direction shows Chyûchû Rûyu̽ Mudâ is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this metropolis live. Or if the general public wasn’t so enthusiastically, openly, and merrily participating in these activities.
